Virginia Quality is leading the way for quality early care & education for Virginia’s children and families
In July 2020, Governor Northam signed legislation to create a Unified Measurement and Improvement System. VDOE is working with a variety of stakeholders to develop and scale the new system. By fall 2023, all publicly-funded programs will be required to participate. Virginia Quality will remain active until the new system is in place, with a plan to ‘freeze’ Virginia Quality ratings to support the overall transition. More information can be found on the Virginia Department of Education Quality Measurement and Improvement (VQB5) webpage.
